Reggeborgh Research Fellowship

The MST and ZGT hospitals have joined us in launching a unique research programme for medical technology talents. Together, under the name Reggeborgh Research Fellowship, we want to raise Twente's profile as a top technology region, invest in healthcare innovations and retain talent for Twente.

Fellowship

The research fellowship gives talented doctors and technical physicians the opportunity to carry out applied scientific research within one of Twente's top hospitals. The research fellowship lasts three years and is a tailor-made training and development programme. With this partnership, the MST and ZGT hospitals join us in boosting technology-based healthcare in Twente.

Ad Claassen, chairman of ZGT medical staff and surgeon: ‘Medical technological innovations are becoming increasingly important in healthcare. The innovations enable faster diagnostics, more complex interventions and remote healthcare. This can lead to more patient-friendly and better healthcare, but it can also give patients more control over their own healthcare process and help control rising healthcare costs. Developments are coming in rapid succession. With the fellowship, doctors and technical physicians will have an opportunity to focus on the development and science of medical technology in hospital care.’

Unique collaboration

The fellowship is a collaboration that brings together entrepreneurship, top healthcare by top talent, science and innovation in medical technology. From Reggeborgh Foundation, we support various medical scientific research projects.

‘Driven by its social interests and Twente roots, Reggeborgh is keen to contribute to innovation in the region and in particular within the healthcare sector. With this investment in healthcare, we can retain talent for the region, allowing everyone in Twente to benefit from innovations in healthcare in the longer term.’

- Mirre de Noo, directeur Reggeborgh Medical

MST board member Miriam Vollenbroek-Hutten adds, ‘By offering fellows the opportunity to conduct research among Twente patients for three years, broaden their network and publish in scientific journals, we are creating a top network in Twente. Our ambition is to launch a second programme after two years. New fellows learn from the first batch of fellows; fellows who complete the programme stay involved in the programme.’
