Reggeborgh speed skating team commits to Villa Joep

Every year, 25 to 30 children in the Netherlands develop neuroblastoma. To help eradicate this form of cancer from the world, Villa Joep was founded 21 years ago. On Sunday 14 December, the Skate 4 Villa Joep event was organised. Anyone who enjoys skating was welcome to skate a 'marathon of their own'. 100% of the proceeds from this event will go to childhood neuroblastoma research.

Reggeborgh skaters Janno Botman and Louis Hollaar volunteered to help on the day, providing participants with cake and biscuits while skating. They also skated along for laps to encourage and cheer on the participants.

‘In elite sport, you can worry about very small things, being a volunteer at this event helps you put things into perspective.’

- Louis Hollaar

It was a beautiful day, where enthusiastic participants, family and friends raised as much money as possible for Villa Joep and which could not have taken place without the support of the many volunteers.
