Reggeborgh Foundation supports skeleton athlete Kimberley Bos on her road to the Olympics
Skeleton athlete Kimberley Bos will receive support from Reggeborgh Foundation over the next two years as she works towards the 2026 Winter Olympics. The foundation entered the picture at a crucial juncture in her elite sports career. Now that the partnership is established, the road to Milan is firmly underway.
The 31-year-old from Ede has established herself as a world-class skeleton athlete in recent years. She made history as the first Dutch woman to win a World Cup race, represented the Netherlands at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, and won Olympic bronze in Beijing in 2022. In addition to her Olympic success, Kimberley Bos has also claimed the overall World Cup title in 2022 and in the past season. In 2023, she added a silver medal at the World Championships to her impressive list of achievements.

With these achievements, Kimberley Bos has overcome significant challenges as a pioneer in Dutch skeleton and paved the way for the next generation of athletes. She faced a continuous struggle to secure sufficient funding for the relatively unknown yet costly sport, making significant sacrifices along the way. In her late twenties, Kimberley Bos lived with her parents to save money, worked part-time as a physiotherapist, and developed her own wheeled sled for summer training at Papendal. Every year, she had to assess whether continuing was financially viable. Thanks to the support of Reggeborgh Foundation, these financial concerns have been alleviated for the coming years, allowing her training camps and competitions to be firmly planned.

‘Reggeborgh Foundation not only supports me as a athlete, but also gives me the opportunity to give something back to society through the foundation, something that suits me very well. Both as a top athlete and as a physiotherapist, getting and keeping people moving is very important to me. I contribute to that in various ways. In addition, I would like to be an inspiration for possible new talent in my sport, which is not yet very well known in the Netherlands. Thanks to my loyal partners, I have been able to do that in recent years and I am very happy that Reggeborgh has now joined.’
