Jennette Jansen wins silver in the road race!
What a great performance by Jennette Jansen! On 5 September 2024, she won silver in the Paralympic road race in the soaking wet streets of Paris!

Jennette had to let Australia's Lauren Parker go in the first round, but she herself closed a gap on her other competitors. After a strong second round and a thrilling final stage, she managed to take the silver! Jennette did not want to say she lost the gold:
‘In the end I came up first after the climb, I still had a long stretch to go and after the final sprint I won the silver.’
- Jennette Jansen
Jennette competed in the Paralympics for the eighth time, winning a total of 11 medals, including four golds. She was on the podium six times as an athlete, four times as a hand cyclist and once as a wheelchair basketball player. These were her last Paralympics. She is not done yet this year, though, as she will compete in the World Para-cycling Road World Championships in Zurich at the end of September.
What an amazing achievement, and an especially impressive Paralympic career, Jennette! We are super proud of you!
