Harmeling Interieurs and Reggeborgh Foundation to sponsor Rijssen athletics club’s talent team
The Rijssen athletics club has found two new sponsors for its talent team: Harmeling Interieurs and the Reggeborgh Foundation. Both companies have committed to this talent team made up of 23 athletes aged between 10 and 16, for three years. On the eve of the Dutch Athletics Championships, to be held in Amsterdam on Sunday 10 September, where four athletes from the Rijssen athletics club will be competing, the sponsorship deal was signed at the athletics track in Rijssen.

‘We’re very happy with the commitment from Harmeling Interieurs and the Reggeborgh Foundation. StepOne, our clothing supplier from Borne, had been associated with our team for quite some time. The new partnership with these two Rijssen companies allows us to take training to an even higher level and prepare our athletes well for all the competitions they enter,’ said Johan Lohuis of the Rijssen athletics club. They do this with considerable merit. The talented runners hailing from Rijssen, Holten, Goor, Diepenheim, Wierden and Almelo now hold more than 80 club records. Regionally, they have achieved many podium finishes and Sophie Willems, Kris Nijzink, Esmee Bulten and Pim Knapen are at the top of the Dutch rankings.
Supporting regional sporting talent
‘Supporting regional sporting talent suits us very well. That’s why we are happy to do our bit for these ambitious athletes who want to reach the top with their tremendous efforts,’ said Inge Wessels of the Reggeborgh Foundation. ‘The athletes of the Rijssen athletics club’s talent team are at the beginning of their sporting careers and already delivering great results. We may well see them at the start of the Olympics one day. In any case, we wish the talent team every success.’
Local community engagement
‘We enjoy being associated with the Rijssen athletics club’s talent team together with the Reggeborgh Foundation as sponsors. Through this partnership, we can support and encourage young athletes to fulfil their sporting dreams. We believe in the power of talent and are proud to play a role in their growth and development. Together we are stronger!’, said Arjen Jansen of Harmeling.
Participation in Dutch U14 Championships
On Sunday 10 September, the Dutch U14 (12-14 years) Championships will be held. Trainer David Hutten: ‘This is the best batch of athletes we have ever had at the Rijssen athletics club. The 5 juniors Kris Nijzink, Pim Knapen, Sophie Willems, Isabelle Euren and Esmee Bulten have qualified for the Dutch Championships and a real chance of going home with a medal. Unfortunately, Esmee Bulten is slightly injured and, therefore, unable to compete. Dealing with setbacks is also part of the road to the top.'
