Femke Kok joined the Reggeborgh speed skating team in the 2020-2021 season. The speed skater from Friesland province can look back on four successful seasons under coach Gerard van Velde. She became three-time Dutch champion and two-time European 500 metres champion. Last year, she made history by becoming the first Dutch woman to become world champion in the 500 metres. And with her latest win at the World Single Distances Speed Skating Championships in Calgary, she took the gold in the 500 metres for the second time. In the team sprint event, Kok previously took a European and a world title. Kok shares her satisfaction: ‘I’ve been able to get better every year and I’m still making progress.’

‘I have a lot of confidence in the approach of the trainers and the rest of the staff. The teamwork is very good, as is the atmosphere on the team. We have a very nice team, where I fit in well.’
