FC Twente Vrouwen have reached the group stage of the UEFA Women's Champions League for the first time. The jubilation after the final whistle was huge. Players, staff and fans couldn't believe their luck.
Winning with superiority in a soaking wet Grolsch Veste
With much superiority, the women of FC Twente Vrouwen beat Osijek. In the first half, the Twente women managed to find each other easily on the pitch and created many chances. FC Twente's team was stronger, more agile and mainly faster in the transition from defence to attack. After Kayleigh van Dooren’s opener in the 25th minute, the goals followed each other rapidly. Alieke Tuin shot the ball from a free kick through the hands of the opponent's goalkeeper, 2-0! Sophie te Brake then scored the 3-0 after receiving the ball from outside the 18-yard box.
During the second half, it started raining hard and it literally came down in buckets. It was raining so hard that the Grolsch Veste stadium turned into a huge water ballet venue. However, it did not keep the players from scoring again. In the 50th minute, Daniela Galic managed to score by sliding the ball towards goal.

The next challenge awaits in the group stage, where FC Twente Vrouwen will take on Celtic, Real Madrid and Chelsea.
